These are new products made from our Iowa pasture raised Red Deer by an award winning Brat maker*, who has been in the business since 1962.  They use the highest quality standards in their ingredients, no nitrites are used, and in their technique.  If you are ready for a taste sensation - look no further, just choose your flavor or try one of each. Each package is one pound with 4 deer brats.  All Brats are in the raw-frozen state, except for the Ceddarwurst, which are completely cooked and frozen.

A small amount of Pork must be used in these Brats.  All the pork that is used is sourced from one family farm.  They follow the same ideals and standards that Bur Oaks follows.

Always thaw product prior to cooking.

 

Skillet

Heat a pan to a medium temperature. Add 1/2 cup of water and place links in pan. Cover, heat for 10 minutes, turning brats once. ** At this point you can grill them or remove cover and continue cooking for about 10 min.

Gas or charcoal grill

Preheat gas grill to medium-low heat. (If charcoal, allow it to burn until white ash has formed on the coals.) Place brats on grill 7-9 inches above heat source. Use tongs to turn links often. Cook until golden brown about 15-20 minutes.  **Cook until golden brown about 10 minutes.

Indoor broiling

Place brats on broiler rack at least 7-9 inches below heat. Broil about 4-5 minutes per side, until golden brown, about 15-20 minutes total. Or ** Cook until golden brown about 10 minutes.

  

 

 reheating - Microwave

Heat 1 brat approximately 1 minute on high or until warmed to your satisfaction.

 reheating - Pan

Medium temperature in a covered pan for 8-10 minutes
 
SUGGESTION- Cheddarwurst are completely cooked, better when you don't boil first - put right on the grill, fry, or broil.
